How to deal with discouragement and disappointments

These two words “discouragement” and “disappointments” has different perspective for different people. These two arises out of many external as well as internal factors. As of discouragement, the external factors which make us feel discouraged are, criticism or failure and, the internal factor which owes to discouragement is our mind, which conjures up an illusion making us feel that we are not good at it. Speaking of disappointment, it is mainly due to the expectation that we preconceive in our mind. Anything that goes out of our preconceived outcome, leads to disappointment.

We humans cast our definition of success over to some materialistic as well as non-materialistic things and we instigate an idea that achieving it makes us successful. There is where we manufacture these two terms “Discouragement” and “disappointment”. If anything goes wrong during the journey, we never embrace the change, rather, we become so engrossed with these two terms, that we even forget the purpose of the journey.

The ingredients of discouragement and disappointment cooks up the thoughts of failure. And, we eventually feed our mind with this thought, which becomes a hindrance to proceed further. We cannot proceed towards a solution unless and until we become aware of the problem we are stuck up with. We must understand that it is not discouragement and disappointment which stands as an impediment in our journey, but it is our fear, especially, the fear of failure which falters us from moving further.

Do not let yourself feel dejected at any situation instead pile yourself up for the different turn in the venture. Do not let your thoughts subjugate you. The way you define success matters more than achieving it. Success is not measured in terms of perfection but in terms of excellence. It is to find yourself in a better position tomorrow than today. When you seek for excellence, to make yourself a better person you will neither be discouraged nor be disappointed.

Disappointments occurs when sudden unexpected things that we never expected turns up. Hence always be ready to embrace the change, instead of mourning over the past, complaining that things must have taken place in the way you expected it to be. Obstacles come in any disguised form and it comes to test our grit from time to time. Never become a victim and surrender to the situation. Fight back. After all, all these setbacks are inevitable, and they are here to teach us to change our path and to experiment with different kind of solutions.

Finally, it’s our thoughts that make us what we want to be. If you think that you are being discouraged and criticized, yes you are. But if you think that you are being corrected your mind takes that up in a different sense. There are certain emotional barriers which prevent you from achieving success. It includes disappointment, discouragement, procrastination and self-doubt. The only way to overcome these emotional barriers is to build a positive attitude, realize your self- worth and take up responsibility to make yourself a better person tomorrow than today. Never look for instant solution in a world which keeps on changing.

Finally hold onto to these five mantras:
HOPE
FAITH
COURAGE
TOLERANCE
PERSEVERANCE
Do not be dismayed by discouragement and disappointments yet overcome them and uphold you with these five mantras!!
                                           BON VOYAGE!!!
